Kensington
This is a job completed at Kensington Library, London, SW7. The ornate steel frame is grade two listed so had to be reused within the same space. As the screen is around fifty years old the glass was not compliant and had to be replaced.
We de-glazed the existing float glass and re-glazed with 10mm clear toughened safety glass with polished edges all re-glazed into the original steel frame. The frameless toughened glass door was also supplied and installed by Empire. The door consists of 10mm clear toughened safety glass and Dorma PT hardware supplied with polished brass cover plates.
The original door handle was taken from the original screen, polished and re-installed on the new door. The oversized dot manifestation was supplied and installed by Empire. These works had an order value of £6k and were completed on behalf of The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
